McReynolds AVID

An online network for AVID students at McReynolds Middle School.

I know its been a week since the hurricane but i feel it might help some of us to move on from what has happened by discussing what indeed happened. If you have a comment, want to tell your story, or just need some place to get all this nervous energy out please do so here. I want to hear from you. Tell me about the crazy storm and how the trees fell and how crazy life is now with no light. Are you guys okay, do you need something, or do you know someone who needs help. Spread the word!

awesome! My sister finally got light that night too. Im excited for her, and for me. It's tiring housing people for so long, not because i dont like my sister but because having to entertain everyone and work around four schedules (mine, my husband's, my sister's, and her husband's)was VERY tough. plus getting ready for work and school in the morning was hectic. Im just glad ppl r getin back 2 normal, or as normal as we can get. :)

Our house is fine. we lost the fence in the backyard cause a huge, tall tree fell over from our neighbor's yard. we spent everyday of last week cleaning up around our house, then our parents' house, then our neighbors', then our friends'. we lost water for a couple of days but its back on now. still don't have power at home and its been 12 days already........

Wow. oh and the green-blue lights you saw (which looked AWESOME btw) WERE actually transformers. Tranformers (no NOT the movie) are the metal cylinders that are up on the BIG wooden poles on the street that run the electricity from one place to another. And since so many of them POPPED during the storm, well we didnt have light. Also the city of Houston didnt have that many replacement transformers and was having some new ones shipped in, so it took even LONGER :) At least thats what i was told.

This storm very cool but after are light turned off I hated it! One thing that i wanted to take a picture was befor the storm, during the storm, and after the storm.I saw Green lighting outside my widow but i didnt see it for sure, my mom said it was the tranformers (I do not know what that is).We were ok after it but we did ALOT of cleaning in are front yard. A backyard on a other hand was the bigest. A BIG tree fell in are backyard, but the werst part is that tree has bees and it was a lot of work. Are light didn't come one intell a week later and it was a disaster! NO MUSIC! NO TV! NO WASING MY CLOTHES! NOTHING! But we did have somne Fun, my sister and I made up a dance for my brother wedding it preety cool i guess. but we had LOTS of fun!
